About Sarah...
I'm 23 years old and was born and raised in Lubbock Texas. I'm a senior English and History major at Texas Tech and will graduate in August 2007! I will be teaching High School English for grades 8 through 12th.
I work full time while going to school as a Technical Support Representative for The Door ERF Wireless, where I've been employed for six years. I originally thought I wanted to go into the computer repair and website design business but after taking a computer programming class at Tech I realized I had better leave the computer programming up to Zach, and changed my major to English, a subject I'd always loved and excelled at. I love eighteenth and early nineteenth century literature and cannot wait to become a teacher.
I also love cats and am the owner of a spoiled nosey kitty named Sylvester.
About Zach...
Zach is 24 years old and also born and raised in Lubbock Texas. He is a recent cum laude graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He plans to go back to school in the near future to get his Masters Degree.
Zach is currently employeed by Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth Texas in their EIS department and is also the web developer for their division of the Fort Worth Java Users Group. Zach enjoys watching movies, playing video games (especially his Wii, Zelda and war games), messing with his computers and editing (spoofing) pictures with photoshop. He has a super cute pug named Jake.
How we met...
Zach and I are high school sweethearts and met in orchestra in 1998. I had just turned 15 and started the 10th grade at Coronado High School, and Zach was 16 years old and a junior. We were both violinists in the Coronado Orchestra and I was moved to the first violin section for a particular piece of music and Zach was my stand partner. He was so funny, he was constantly making jokes and trying to make me laugh in between our playing. During this joking around I happened to get my tongue stuck in my braces (I had just gotten rubber bands put on earlier than morning, but I still don't know how it happened) and Zach was instantly concerned and flagged down our conductor Mr. Wyrick, and offered to take me to the nurses office as I didn't know where it was. Zach says this incident was what made him want to get to know me better.
We got to know eachother a little better in the mornings before school in the orchestra hangout and that's where I remember Zach and I starting to become friends. I wore a sweatshirt of his then favorite band, Nirvana that day, and I believe he had a bit of a crush after that. After realizing we had the same taste in music and interests, he would walk me to my first class every morning and we'd flirt endlessly in Orchestra. A couple weeks later as Zach walked me to class one morning he handed me a note asking me to come to lunch with him and his friends and to be his girlfriend. Eight and a half years later we're still together and as happy as can be.
